Welcome to the Morgan Giles Yacht Register

Morgan Giles designed and built a wide range of both sail and power vessels. This website is dedicated to the vessels of F. C. Morgan Giles and the Morgan Giles Shipyard.

The predominant idea is to build an online register of the remaining boats for all to share. Hopefully this will help foster an increased appreciation for the remaining vessels, which, as time goes by, are increasing in both historical and financial value. This shared knowledge will hopefully assist in preserving the remaining yachts for the next generation.

There is no charge for registering your boat, all we ask is that you provide digital images and the specifications of your vessel, plus some history if possible. Please register here.

The Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum are the custodians of the remaining Morgan Giles line drawings, sail plans and general memorabilia. Should you be looking to obtain more technical information then see the Links page for the museum’s contact details.

If you are an owner of a GRP Morgan Giles (MG30) then please see the Links page for a website which has a register of the GRP yachts built to a Morgan Giles design.

If you happen to own a vessel built by Morgan Giles or know someone that does, or know where one is lying then please contact us.

Information Appeal

The Morgan Giles Association would like to hear from anyone with information, news or photos relating to any vessel built at the Morgan Giles Shipyard. Any information on broken up vessels would also be welcome. The yard built over 800 vessels between 1920 and 1969, we currently have only about 40 boats on the register, please get in touch if you can help us with our research.
